Marimba Camp Guest Artist

“Great Plains Percussion Group is a professional percussion collective featuring members from the Great Plains region.  The group is dedicated to performing new and classic works for percussion ensemble.”

Jamie Wind Whitmarsh is a composer, conductor, and a regular performer with the Great Plains Percussion Group and Duo Rodinia. He is on faculty at Oklahoma City University and is on the percussion staff at Yukon High School.  He holds degrees from Oklahoma City University, Florida State University, and is currently pursuing a DMA in Percussion Performance from the University of Oklahoma. He also arranges for marching band through A103 Productions.  He is the current Vice-President of the Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society. 

Patrick Womack is the second percussionist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.  He holds degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Oklahoma City University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in percussion performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the U.K. He is on faculty at Oklahoma City University and Oklahoma Baptist University. 

Jeremy Parr holds degrees from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma City University. He was the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Coordinator at Moore High School from 2009-2016. He has also been on staff for the SWOSU Marimba Camp for 9 years.  He currently is a freelance percussion teacher, performer and film actor in OKC.

McKeever Arnold holds a degree in music from Oklahoma City University, class of 2016. He is currently a composer, performer, and recording artist in OKC.

Ryan Robinson is a Kansas City, MO native based in the OKC area.  He holds degrees from Pittsburg State University and Oklahoma City University, receiving a masters in percussion performance and composition.  His time is widely spent teaching at Yukon High School, performing across the Midwest, composing and making sick beats. 

Von Hansen is a performer, composer and educator based in Wichita, Kansas.  He is the President of the Kansas Percussive Arts Society and an Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Friends University. 

Dr. Tommy Dobbs is the Instructor of Percussion at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith and Treasurer for the Arkansas Chapter of PAS. He is the Principal Percussionist with the Fort Smith Symphony and member of The Great Plains Percussion Group, Duo Breedlove (Saxophone and Percussion), and The Wind and Wood Duo (Clarinet and Percussion). He holds a Doctor of Music Degree and Masters of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from the Florida State University and a Bachelor’s of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of North Florida.
